Testing Cocaine
Harm reduction kits are valuable tools for individuals who use drugs, as they provide information about the substances they intending to consume. Here’s a detailed guide on how to ideally test your cocaine using our test kits. Generally, we would advise on getting 4 different types of test kits to have a thorough understanding of your sample of cocaine.
1) Cocaine Test Kit
How to use our Cocaine Test Kit:
- Open the kit and familiarizing yourself with its contents and instructions. The ampoule is found inside the plastic test tube (used for protection during shipping). See our FAQ if you think the ampoule looks empty.
- Knock the unopened ampoule several times against a hard surface, so that the granules, which may be sticking to the inside of the ampoule wall, fall downwards.
- Take the top of the ampoule between the thumb and index finger, and snap off the top with the ampoule breaker.
- Make sure your substance does not contain any lumps, as this might compromise or skew the test results. We advise mixing your substance well. Use the spatula to insert a sample of your substance (~20 mg) into the ampoule.
- Use the spatula to stir the solution for 10 seconds until well-combined. Do not leave the spatula in the ampoule, as there is a risk it could melt. Observe the reaction.
- Carefully shake the ampoule for 5 seconds to make the color homogeneous. Compare the colour of the solution, to the colour on the back of the instruction sheet.
- After use, dispose the ampoule in the trash. Do not use the sample tested as the reagent is harmful is consumed through any means. Use the yielded result as an indicator for the remaining sample.
2) Cocaine Purity Test Kit
The Cocaine Purity Kit is used to estimate the purity of a cocaine sample. Purity is defined by the proportion (%) of active drug in a preparation. This kit includes specific reagents to analyze the concentration of cocaine in the sample, or more simply put, the approximate percentage of actual cocaine in the total substance.

- Take the top of the ampoule between the thumb and index finger, and snap off the top with the ampoule breaker.
- Open one (1) buffer solution tube and insert all the liquid into the ampoule.

It's important to understand that these kits provide preliminary information and are not foolproof. They can help users make more informed decisions about the substances they are consuming, but they are not a substitute for professional testing or medical advice. If you have concerns about substance use, it's always advisable to reach out to healthcare professionals, harm reduction organizations, or addiction support services in your area.
